Gaithersburg, Maryland — American General Supplies Inc. (AGS) announces with deep sorrow the passing of its Founder and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Kassa Maru, on February 22, 2026.

Mr. Maru was a global pioneer of the commercial aviation industry and a transformative figure in African aviation for more than four decades. In 1982, he founded AGS with a clear vision: to build a world-class aviation support company grounded in integrity, technical excellence, and global reach. Under his leadership, AGS grew from a start-up supplier into a respected international aviation services organization serving airlines, operators, governments, and MRO facilities across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America.

Throughout his career, Mr. Maru was known for his deep industry knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and long-term partnerships. His contributions significantly strengthened aviation infrastructure and operational capability in emerging markets, particularly across Africa, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and the communities it serves.
